Cathy Zeysing is the owner and artistic director of Cathy’s Creative Dance School. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary and Secondary Education, English, Reading and Dance from the University of Central Missouri and the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music & Dance under the direction of Catherine Plavcan and the late Leni Wylliams and holds a Master’s Degree in Creative Arts from Lesley University Cambridge, Massachusetts. Miss Cathy danced professionally for the Ad Club of Kansas City and the Kansas City Kings Organization, was a member of UCM Modern Dance Company and studied under Kansas City native tap master, Billie Mahoney. She is Kindermusik certified and a certified teacher of the Cecchetti Ballet Council where she attended Cecchetti Teacher’s Training, Hope College, Michigan. In addition, Miss Cathy is a certified member of Dance Masters of America, attended Dance Teacher Training School, Kent State University, serves on the Board of Dance Masters as a National Delegate and is a National Examiner for the organization. Miss Cathy is a Show Troupe choreographer & coach and MATS Team coach.
Erin Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Human Behavior from Avila University where she was a member of their nationally ranked Glitter Girls dance team for four years. She has been a guest teacher and judge for Dance Champs National Conventions & Competitions. Miss Erin has served as head coach for the William Jewell College and University of Central Missouri Dance Team. Currently, Erin is the head coach for Blue Springs High School Glitter Girls and a choreographer and solo/duo coach for Cathy's Show Troupe.
Stephanie Wildasin began her dance education at age 3, studying multiple styles including ballet, modern, pointe, tap, jazz and hip hop at Liberty Dance Center and Studio 10. Miss Wildasin studied dance at the prestigious Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Arts Management, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma under the direction of Jo Rowan, Tiffany Warford, Veronica Wilcox and Patricia Oplotnik, and performed with the OCU Steppers. Stephanie has had extensive training in theatre arts management and dance education, and has choreographed for numerous competition dance teams. Miss Stephanie is thrilled to be on faculty at Cathy’s Creative Dance School
Melissa Zeysing started dancing at the age of two and is a lifelong student of Cathy’s Creative Dance School. She was a member of Show Troupe for 12 years where she received numerous awards and dance scholarships including Broadway Dance Center, New York City. She was a former member and captain of the Blue Springs High School Glitter Girls. Melissa has studied dance at The University of Kansas and Broadway Dance Center on scholarship. She was a member of KU’s Unity Dance Crew, and an apprentice member of KACICO Modern Dance Company. She has traveled with Dance Theatre USA as a company member since 2011 and she will be traveling to Italy for the second year to dance with La Luna Dance Center under the direction of Loree Russeau and Ryan Daniel Beck. Miss Melissa is a Cathy’s Show Troupe choreographer and solo/duo coach.
Katie Metzger started dancing at the early age of 3 and trained at MCM & the St. Louis under the guidance of Barbara Craig and Jennifer Medina. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance from UMKC Conservatory of Music & Dance with an emphasis in ballet and modern and has been a dance instructor for the Jewish Community Center. Miss Metzler has performed with The Slaughter Dance Project, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, Quixotic Dance Company and is currently performing as a member of the KACICO Modern Dance Company. Miss Katie is a Cathy’s Show Troupe choreographer and solo coach.
Amanda will be dancing her tenth season with City In Motion Modern Dance Theater. Amanda has danced professionally with the east Indian dance company Gurukal for 2 seasons as well as dancing for a season with Lawrence modern dance group 940. Upon returning to City In Motion, Amanda studied Flamenco dance in Seville, Spain for a year and a half. Amanda has danced with Kansas City Flamenco groups De Los Barrios and Alma Flamenca. Amanda has danced with other modern dance groups such as Dwell, Assemblage, and Trapdoor Slippers to name a few. Amanda received a B.F.A in dance for the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Casey Nagel holds Bachelor Degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Central Missouri and a Master Degree in Education from Webster University. She began her dance career at Cathy’s Creative Dance when she was 8 years old, was a member of Show Troupe and the Truman Starsteppers Dance Team. Currently, Miss Nagel is a Kindergarten teacher in the Independence School District and dance team coach for the Truman High School Starsteppers Dance Team. Miss Casey is a Cathy’s Show Troupe coach and choreographer.
Dawn Pardee studied Elementary Education at Maple Woods Community College. She started her dance education at Cathy Creative Dance at the age of 12, was a member of Cathy’s Show Troupe and the William Chrisman High School Beartrackers. Miss Dawn is a certified Grade 1 Cecchetti ballet teacher, Cathy’s Show Troupe Coach and M.A.T.S. Team coordinator and coach.
